Dillon Garris – Lead Designer
Dillon Garris is an American born International Interior Designer who’s projects have encompassed Europe, North America and Asia. This experience has filled his imagination with a rich contrast of images and sensations from varied cultures which led to his passion for art, architecture, and design. His design studio was established in 2001.
The team’s focus is on designing timeless interiors with the individual personality of the client in mind. Dillon is confident in using a mix of bold and subtle colors which work well with his signature style of white walls, custom furnishings, persian rugs, and hard wood floors. His aim is to design elegant and relaxed spaces that are comfortable to live in.
Sun filled open planned living spaces with a strong connection between indoors and out are also an important aspect in Dillon’s design, encouraging the client to utilize all aspects of the home when entertaining. Not only is he involved with the selection of furniture and accessories, he also works closely with the site architect and builder on the full scope of his projects. One of Dillon’s most valuable attributes is that he is able to listen to his clients needs and wishes and then deliver an outcome that exceed their expectations.
Through the years Dillon has collaborated with talented French interior designers, such as Christian Liaigre, Alberto Pinto, Christophe Pillet, Garouste & Bonnetti, and Kristian Gavoille. He’s developed a vast portfolio of international projects ranging form hotel and private residences, yacht design, cosmetic & perfume bottle design, to artistic direction for several Cannes film festivals. His work has won several awards, and been published in various books and magazines. His goal is to continue to build his growing practice into a world renowned studio recognized for original design.
Karen Ripper – Assistant Designer
I became intrigued by the world of fashion and interior design during my time at a prestigious Fashion/Interior Design College in Southern California. I had the opportunity to launch my career in Asia, as my first assignment took me to Hong Kong. I had the opportunity to live and work in a mixture of old and new world styles, thus helping me craft and passion to “Mix & Match”.
I tend to be drawn to layering of textures and colours that create a sense of warmth and an atmosphere of comfort. The interiors I create for my clients will always reflect their values and style, which is very important to me.
I am very fortunate to work with clients from all over the world – Hong Kong, Singapore, London and Mexico. I feel at ease collaborating with clients from all walks of life. I thrive on their diversity and the structure it gives my interiors.
My interior design style varies by project, but a common theme is comfort and warmth with attention to detail — by layering of fabrics to combining modern pieces of furniture with a rare antique find from suppliers local or overseas.
My inspiration comes from all parts of my life. The simple fact that I work and live in one of nature’s most beautiful parts of the world allows me to draw inspiration from colours and textures from the natural materials that surround British Columbia. And thru the luxury of travel… I am introduced to other cultures and design ideas. To me it’s always interesting to include these ideas into all of my designs.
Creating interior space allows me to work with the most interesting people, from the clients that inspire me to the incredible team of creative craftsman and tradesman that play a part in bringing my visions to life.
